Fell so in love with the simplicity of these...and the cheap price...that I bought 3.

One in this sunny yellow, one in grey, and one in black.

They run pretty true to size and I would suggest basing that on your bust size...because it's an empire waist and you want to be comfortable.

Not constantly tugging at your top.

The other thing you're probably wondering is should you wear a bra underneath.

My answer is a YES if you are anywhere near the C, D, or above cup size. You might want to consider it if you're a B as well.

Definitely if you're going to wear any color other than black. No one needs to see the ladies on display...if you know what I mean.

I wear a lowish cut strapless bra and it's really really comfortable underneath, as well as supportive with the straps of the dress.

Wear it with cute flats...thongs (or sandals) nothing too complicated please...and some stacked bangles or maybe a chunky longer necklace.

I have this love/hate relationship with heels.

Once they're on my feet, I literally stumble around in them...much like a child learning how to walk.

These heels here are from Elizabeth and James and they're gorgeous.

Expensive at $450, but seriously GORGEOUS.

I actually have this exact same bag.

The hubs bought it for me for Mother's Day, due to the fact that he understands, accepts, and fully supports my handbag obsession.

While it's for Rebecca's summer 2010 collection, I think the pale grey color can actually carry this bag into fall and maybe even winter.

The silver eyelets on the bag just did it for me.

Not as trendy as studs, so I'm hoping that fact won't make it a one-season-only bag.

Not cheap...it's $675...but it's a bag I'll be using for a while so that works for me.

Welcome to a new feature here at a little bag obsessed...A Little Obsessed with Style. This feature will give me the chance to introduce to you the celebs whose style I'm dying over this week and also introduce a look that I'm loving that week.

My first is Lauren Conrad.

Now, I know that many, many people have something to say about her...generally negative...especially when it comes to her style.

But I happen to adore it.

She's casual chic...which is perfect for a suburban mom like myself. Her clothing choices are something that you could find in your local department store and it won't cost you a bundle to recreate them for yourself.

This look is actually something that I'm loving right now.

Big scarf wrapped around my neck. An easygoing white tee (long or short sleeves) that hits at my hips. Skinny jeans and a great jacket that hits a little below my waist.

The ballet flats, oversized sunglasses, and the Chanel bag totally complete the look.

This is a photo of her when her hair was shorter, in the current longer bob look. J'adore it and I'm instantly inspired to grow my chin length bob out immediately.

Honestly...it kills me when women want to go designer and buy from a kiosk or the street corner.

For one...you aren't getting the real thing. Period.

Secondly...however much money you spent on that bag isn't worth it...guaranteed it'll eventually fall apart and you can't take it back or get it repaired.

And let's not even get into every shady under-dealings that those bags represent.

You don't have to spend a million dollars to get a great bag.

Okay...so I lied...I haven't been doing the promised 2-3 postings a week.

I try.

Really I do.

I guess I'm not that bad in most areas, we recycle, we have all energy saving appliances, I take very short showers, I turn off the water while brushing my teeth, and so on.

Hey everyone! I hope your week is going well.

It seems that I've been tagged by the awesome Tam at Tam's Thoughts. Here are the rules that she laid out:

OK...so here goes...my six unspectacular quirks. I'll start off with number six and work my way up to my number one quirk...

6. I read magazines starting from the back. I have no idea why I do this. I've tried to stop and start from the front, but it feels really unnatural and I can't read them that way. Bizarre.

5. I love frosting. Seriously. I actually keep a container in the fridge that I occasionally pick on. I can only do this with vanilla frosting.

4. Butterflies freak me out. This was a hard one to ignore when I was teaching second graders. You see, part of our curriculum involved the life cycle of a butterfly and...well...this involved getting real life butterflies starting from their caterpillar stage. Let's just say that when the time came to let them out, the kids had to do this part. If one of those things got on me...I think I would have lost it.

3. I always cry at the end of Finding Nemo...always.

2. I can say all of the United States in alphabetical order and I know the Preamble to the Constitution...mainly because of an elementary school song I learned when I was a kid and a School House Rock episode respectfully.

BTW I totally miss School House Rock and those After School Specials that would air on ABC back in the day. Anyone else?

and the last one....

1. I cannot chew gum. Well, I know how to chew it...I'm not an idiot people...I just have a really horrible gag reflex when it comes to chewing the stuff. I'm actually better now, when I was younger I couldn't even watch someone chewing it or see chewed up gum anywhere. I would literally throw up or feel like I was going to throw up.

I did an earlier post on a Versace bag that really didn't appeal to me.

This one has the opposite effect.

I'm really loving this bag.

First of all, it's an iconic doctor's bag shape. Which means that it will look great in the hand or on the arm.

Second, instead of the gold accents, which can be a little iffy, she's used subtle silver accents...much more day-to-day.

And last, I'm enjoying the burst of blue along with the croc-stamped leather.

Gorgeous and wearable...thank you Versace.

how to....care for a designer bag

So you've made the jump and bought that ultra-expensive designer bag that you have been eyeing for months.

You take your purchase home, use it, and love it, for the course of a few months.

Then the time comes when you decide to switch it out with another one in your closet.

Maybe for the day, or you just want to use a different bag.

So, you dump out your contents from your lovely bag into the new one.

Then you take your gorgeous, insanely expensive, designer bag...and throw it on the floor of your closet.

Or...throw it on a shelf, or hang it up on a hook.

Basically, you just took the money you spent on that purse and chucked it out the window.

This is a nightmare scenario for me.

I would cry if someone took my bags and treated them this way.

Really.

All of my bags are neatly lined up on a shelf in my closet. Each one is lovingly stuffed with tissue paper (to keep the shape) and tucked into its dust bag.

Each and every one.

I remember the time I almost got into an actual argument with a friend over the fact that she was going to place one of her expensive bags into a plastic bag to store it.

PLASTIC!

I thought she was insane. She had the audacity to say that was the best way to store them.

Everyone knows, or should know, that a plastic bag will ruin a handbag. If you store it in any bag, use a fabric one. Many of your high-end bags, as well as some not so high-end, come with their own fabric storage bag. USE IT!

If you can't find the bag, or yours did not come with one, a pillow case will suffice.

While doing some hunting around the internet. I came across a great article that gives you the ins and outs for taking care of your handbag. Click here to take you there. It really goes into great detail on how you can keep your bag looking as great as the day you bought it.

bags under $100...gryson for target

Ok....ok....I know...I am a little late to the whole Gryson for Target party.

It's not that I didn't want to talk about it...it's just that I wasn't able to get any good images for you to peruse dear reader.

The line does have a lot of bags to offer.

I've actually picked two that really appeal to me.

One is the bag to the right. This is the Zip Satchel in Black and it retails for $39.99.

It's actually a pretty attractive bag, although I haven't had a chance to see this one in person.

I love the braided handle and the zip pocket on the front. I am also loving the overall shape of the bag. The only thing I'm a little disappointed about is that it's made out of polyurethane, that could really prove to be a hit or a miss in person.

The second bag is one you have probably already seen.

It's her Patent Woven Bag with Cutout Handles in White ($44.99).

It's really a great option for a white bag if you don't want to dig too deep in your pockets for one.

The fact that you can carry this by the cutout handles, as well as by the longer strap, provides a fun versatility.

I suggest that you head over to the Target website, or your local Target stores to check these and the other bags being offered. I have a feeling that these bags will go...quickly.

I must apologize for my recent sporadic postings.

I'm spreading myself a little thin between this blog and Beauty in Real Life, plus I'm dealing with a personal family issue that's really taking a toll on me.

I've decided to do a little Love It or Hate It.

Up for the poll is this stunner from Fendi. Yet another incarnation of their uber-famous Baguette. This one is their Hair Hide Fringe Bag. It's kind of puzzling really. I'm wondering who came up with the color arrangement here. It's also all over the place pattern-wise...kind of tribal/bohemian/safari all rolled up into one.

I really can't think of anything else to say...words fail me right now.

Lauren Merkin is quickly becoming one of my favorite handbag designers.

I love how she just makes a great bag.

There are no chains, no crazy prints, no studs...nothing but an exquisite bag made with beautiful leathers.

She's smart.

She designs bags that you could reach for again and again, no matter the season.

Take this bag for example

This is her Rebecca Leather Shoulder Bag in Grass ($545). I love the color. It's great for Spring and Summer, but could still see some life in Winter and Fall when you need a jolt of color.

It's simply gorgeous.

I figured I would feature some bright python ballerina flats to brighten up your Saturday.

These are by Giuseppe Zanotti ($395 at net-a-porter) and they are super-cute.

They are actually a stamped snakeskin print, but who cares. They look luxurious and chic.

If the Zanotti's are out of your price range. I found another bright snakeskin-print ballerina in a very surprising place...Banana Republic.

These are their Daniela python-print ballet flat and they retail for a more wallet-friendly $98. In addition to this adorable blue color, they also come in red, green, a pretty color called anthracite, amethyst, and brown. For this price you could pick up more than one.

chloe heloise top handle tote

I'm not normally a golden-metallic kind of gal.

I just broke down and bought these super cute shoes at Nordstrom in a slightly muted metallic-silver, but they were silver.

In the past, I have always shied away from bags and shoes of the golden hue.

That is, until now.

This is the Heloise Top Handle Tote by Chloe ($1895 saks.com). I love the burnished look of the gold leather...very understated and wearable.

It's Chloe, so you know it will garner many complements. But, it's not a bag you are going to see on every one's arm. Definitely unique.

What's not to love?

urban outfitters part II...the bags

If you haven't figured it out already, Urban Outfitters is a great resource for everything fashion.

I love to shop there for basics and accessories.

Yesterday, I featured some shoes they offer...today...it's all about the bags!

This bag to the left is my favorite of all the bags they offer.

It's slouchy and effortless in it's styling. It comes in several colors, but this is my favorite. Called the Sabina Leather Satchel ($225) it's sure to become your favorite too.

Another bag offering it this bag to the right. This is their Saddlery Buckle Bag ($58) in this gorgeous brandy. My friend Christine was eyeing this one up and with good reason. It's a bag that you could carry through many a season.

The final bag, is this one from Deux Lux called the Pintuck Hobo. Believe it or not ,this bag in the purple color you see here, is only $39.99. It also comes in Ivory, Pink, and Black...as well as a gorgeous Chocolate color. Stunning. It should be noted that the Black and Chocolate bags are not on sale, they are $58.

urban outfitters part I...the shoes

I don't know what it is lately...because I seem to be on a shoe kick.

Here are some selections I found on a recent visit to Urban Outfitters online store...

This shoe, I actually bought in black, although the red sure was tempting. This is the Leather Knot Peeptoe Skimmer ($58). I love the cut of the shoe, especially the adorable peeptoe opening. Gorgeous.

This is another shoe they offer. It's the Jersey Ruched Back Ballet ($28). I'm considering heading back over there to get this shoe in the wear-with-everything grey color. How can you not love a shoe that is made out of jersey material?

For all the heel loving ladies out there, I found this Crisscross Patent Wedge ($19.99). I love the little buckle strap details in the front, as well as the patent taupe color.

Another shoe is their Dolce Vita Gladiator Heel ($150). Clearly the most expensive one here, but I love how it gives a nod to the gladiator trend with the wide buckled straps. Perfect.

My last shoe choice is this Summer in the City Sandal ($28). This also comes in other colors, but I love it in basic black. Another shoe that can go with a myriad of outfit choices.

I don't know why I haven't featured a bag from this designer before.

This bag is by Gustto, a designer known for their simple shapes and gorgeous colored leather.

I love the simple styling of this Crochetta Croc-Embossed Tote ($695). It's a great size and also a color that will go with just about everything that I own.

It's a bag that you could carry now and five years from now...and it will still look good.

My only problem is, do I pick the navy...or the white?

trend - strappy shoes

This posting is all about strappy shoes, a trend I'm really loving for the Spring and Summer months.

Starting off, we have a gorgeous pair of heels from Banfi Zambrelli. They're the Kora Strappy Open Toe Platform Pump ($575) in a really muted lavender. Gorgeous.

Here's another strappy shoe, this time done in an open-toe flat by Loeffler Randall.

Called the Delia Strappy Open Toe Flat ($430), it comes in this really versatile neutral that can be dressed up or down.

I'm a flat lover, so I'm a big fan of this one.

Another shoe I'm loving is this one from Tashkent by Cheyenne. It's called the Weahly Crisscross Weave Wedge and it retails for $438.

Another neutral that's perfect for the warmer months and beyond.

My fourth and final offering is this one from Cocobelle.

This take on the gladiator sandal is really adorable. I love the stud accents, and the metallic leather.

Called the Studded City II Sandal, it's the least expensive of the bunch at $98.

maxx new york

I saw this in a Nordstrom catalog and loved it immediately.

It's by Maxx New York and it's their Bleeker Medium Patent Croc Clutch ($125).

There really isn't anything medium about it. A surprizingly large bag at 14"l x 9"h...they describe it as being able to hold a small book, wallet, and water bottle...so it's really big.

My eye was actually drawn to this color first, but the other color choices are equally gorgeous. Think worn-in lavender, white, black, and sunny yellow.

A great bag for day, it also transitions you easily into night.

I am in love with Topshop.

Their clothing is gorgeous and unique. You will get major compliments wearing their pieces.

Their accessories are also divine. Take the bag to the left...it's their Leather Zip Around Base Bag. I love the color here, but it comes in black and brown as well. I'm not good at the currency conversion...the prices are in UK pounds...but, I believe that the price is equivalent to $200 USD (keep the currency converter site xe.com in your bookmarks...trust me).

Even though I'm not an avid heel wearer...I loved these shoes here...

....I mean how could I not? These are Topshop's T Bar Shoe in gray and they are about $120 USD. Gorgeous.

I also found some great pieces for Spring. One of my favorite is this Cap Sleeve Cardi in Duck Egg (below, left). It's so different and adorable and versatile. It's also only $60USD.

I'm also loving the combination of the New Indigo Skinny B Jean ($40) and the Circle Square Neck Blouse ($56). Great for the Spring and Summer...gorgeous with a cardi when it's a little chilly.

Last, but not least, is my favorite piece from the site. It's a gorgeous dress from Kate Moss for Topshop. It's her Chinese Jacquard Dress. It's definitely the most expensive of the bunch ($300)...but, it's absolutely divine. Behold...
I can picture the many fashionistas that could work this. The dip in front is down to there, but the tie-front kind of saves you. Wear this and you'll get those envious stares from the crowd.

botkier for target

Apparently, we are not the only ones that think Monica Botkier is an amazing designer and one to watch.

According to The Cut, which is New York Magazine's fashion blog, Target will be partnering with Botkier to launch a limited-edition handbag collection.

The collection will be available July 21 and will run till September 14, 2008.

I cannot wait!

bag trend - gray for spring

Gray seems to be the new black, for Spring 2008 accessories. I love it for it's transitional appeal from season to season. It's also a great color that can really work with the different colors in your wardrobe...think reds, creams, whites, tans, blues, even yellows and greens, in addition to the ubiquitious black.

This bag is by Foley + Corinna Handbags and it's their Mid City Tote in River Stone ($444 at shopbop.com).

I love it for it's style and the fact that it's a convertible bag. You can wear it like you see in the photo to the right, as a tote. Or you can wear it as a shoulder bag, seen in the left photo here.

If the price is a little out of your range, you are in luck. I found two bags for under $25 at forever21.com...my go-to store for affordable trendy clothes and accessories

This bag is the Pleated Faux Leather Satchel ($18.80) and really is a nice looking bag in person. It's a great way to embrace a trend without breaking the bank.

The second bag, seen below, is their Metal Ring Hobo ($23.80). It's a large bag, great for hanging out on the weekend.

Any of the above bags are great choices and two will leave you with enough money to spend on more bags!

While thumbing through one of my magazines, I came across this cute clutch by a company called Raw Bags. This is their Bamboo Cube Clutch ($50).

It's different and cool, and made out of sustainable bamboo. Measuring 12" l x 6" h, it would be perfect for an evening out. Shown here in green, it's also available in black, brown, and yellow.

I'm a person who feels that accessories can make or break an outfit.

I also love ogling and drooling over the latest high-end designer bags and shoes.

I also love it when a luxury designer creates designs that are accessible to everyone.

Case in point...Lela Rose.

Lela Rose designs for the woman who is not on a budget. If you don't believe me, head on over to net-a-porter.com and check out her clothing line.

Go ahead...I'll wait.

OK...glad to have you back. Did you check out her designs? Drool worthy right? Were they cheap? No...I don't think she had one item under $500 there.

My point is this...when a great designer decides to team up with a budget friendly store...such as Payless here...run, don't walk to your nearest mall.

The bag above is by Lela Rose for Payless and it's her Tess Tote ($22.99). You could get away with this bag for Spring, but I would pack it up for Summer. Come Fall, take it out and enjoy it again. It's got the lady-like frame bag vibe, without being too stuffy. The denim and leather (man-made) is a refreshing combination.

If you're heading over to the Payless site...check out these cute shoes while you're there.

These are both by Abaete for Payless and...like the Lela Rose tote above...are only available online or at select Payless stores.

The style on top is called the Hayworth Flat ($30) and would look great for spring. I'm pairing mine with my skinnies and a tunic. The pair on the bottom are actually on sale. They are her Kimberly Flat and they are retailed at...get this...$15!

3.1 phillip lim

While running some errands at the local mall, I stopped into one of my favorite stores...Cusp.

It's a boutique that's an off-shoot of Neiman Marcus. They are currently in select cities only, but I'm sure that will change in the future.

Cusp is a store that I love to shop in. The staff is insanely friendly and knowledgeable about their inventory. They will also help you pick out a great ensemble from head to toe.

In addition to their clothes, they sell some great accessories. Of course, it's their handbags that draw me in.

They carry some designers you may never have heard of, as well as many legendary luxury brands. Does the name Chanel ring a bell?

I came across the bag above, on my most recent trip, and was really struck by how beautiful it was.

This bag is by 3.1 Phillip Lim and it's his Omai Pleated Shoulder Bag ($626).

It's a simple bag, but the details are where it's at. I love the subtle pleating on the front pocket and the onyx plated handle accents are really striking. The whole bag gives off a great retro vibe to me.

It's a substantial bag at 17.25" l x 10.5" h, giving you ample space to fill with your junk. The top of the bag has a zippered closure, for extra security.

The Cusp boutique featured this bag in black, which I would choose for myself. I found this one on eluxury.com, which recently started carrying his bags. On their site, this bag is only available in this color called Golden Rust.

bag trend - colorblock clutch

One trend you're seeing a lot of for Spring 2008, is colorblock.

I really love seeing this trend applied to the clutch bag.

The bag to the right is the Colorblock Clutch by Stella McCartney ($595 at net-a-porter.com). It looks small here, but it's actually almost eleven inches in length and six inches in height. The colors she chose are gorgeous together and allow you to wear this with a myriad of outfits.

If you love the color block trend, but don't want to spend $600...this is another cute clutch.

This is by a company called High Fashion and it's their Runway Clutch ($210). It has a little of the Fendi-To You Convertible Bag vibe, without the price. It's 16" in length, which makes it a great oversize clutch. Try endless.com for larger photos and more details.

The last clutch comes from Urban Outfitters, whose website I just can't get enough of.

This is their Deux Lux Patent Clutch($48). I love it's vintage look and the great colors. It comes in an ivory version too. These are definitely statement bags, great for a pop of color with any outfit you choose. Just remember to not go overboard with the crazy patterns everywhere else.

D & G Dolce & Gabbana Linen Tote

I figured I would end the week with another gorgeous bag.

This is from D&G Dolce & Gabbana and it's their linen and patent leather tote.

I love the retro styling and the fabric choice, which give it such a clean and fun look.

This versatile bag also gives you the choice of wearing it two different ways. The top handles allow you to wear it over your shoulder, or you can add the shoulder strap and sling it across your body.

The color scheme fits the current safari look without going overboard. It's a bag that you could wear today and for many a season to come.

That's a good thing, considering this bag will set you back $920 at Neiman Marcus.

valentino vs nine west

This bag called the Bow Nuage Hobo ($1195) and it's by Valentino. I'm kinda holding my breath here, waiting for the comments to pour in for this one.

It's definitely a statement bag, although what statement that is, I really can't say.

The bag itself is huge and made out of a metallic leather. The bow itself is just...interesting. But, it is Valentino....and he has his own set of loyal fans.

Personally, I think that if you are going to go for a big crazy bag, you would do better with this one by Nine West.

This is their Bow Feelin Large Shopper ($95). It's made out of natural PVC and comes in black, coral, and an (almost) natural looking python as well.

It's basically the exact same bag...except of course in the other bag, you are paying for quality leather, craftsmanship, and the Valentino name.

If I had to choose, I would probably choose the Nine West. It's actually kind of cute in a way, and much better looking in person. For the money, it's also a much better deal...considering both are such trendy bags.

You can't help but admire a designer like Stella McCartney.

Not only does she produce beautiful clothing and accessories, she is also eco and environmentally friendly. Being she is a vegetarian, she also does not use any leather or fur in anything she produces.

I think that only adds to the attractiveness of her designs.

This bag is made out of oat (white) colored faux leather. The gold-tone hardware provide a nice touch as do the functional zippered pockets on the side. In addition to the top handles, it also comes with a shoulder strap long enough to sling across your body.

You have to love a bag that is as beautiful as it is functional.

I'm a lover of flats.

I also love anything Michael Kors.

While cruising the internet, on such a dreary day here in the DC area, I came across these adorable peep-toe flats ($395).

I love the color, it's a great neutral to pair up with the brights of the Spring season. The peep-toe is a great way to show off a pedicure and the buckle detail is just too chic.

This is also a versatile shoe. You could easily pair it with pants, skirts, dresses, and shorts. Because I live in jeans, I would pair them with a skinny jean, my white tank, and the bright (almost sheer) floral top I just bought from H&M.

This is Burberry Prorsum's new offering for Spring 2008. It's one of those bags that you either love or hate.

I'm a little on the fence.

I do like the overall styling of the bag...it's a great shape for slinging over your shoulder comfortably. It's also a fairly large bag at 17" l x 7" h.

The studs are leaving me a little iffy. I guess I'm wondering how I would work this into my everyday stay-at-home-mom attire.

I could picture a few celebrities carrying this bag though...

According to my new issue of People Stylewatch, which...hello...I love, this is the bag that Cameron Diaz will be sporting. If anyone could pull off a bag like this...she could.

With Spring and Summer just around the corner, I wanted to feature some great white bags. To prove that you don't have to spend a fortune for a quality product...I wanted to show you some great ones that were less than $150. They are both by Nine West, they are both great for the warmer months ahead, and they are both $149.99.

The bag above is the Classic Leather Tote. It's a large enough bag to carry your makeup bag and wallet, and still have enough room for the other daily necessities. It also features an inner zippered pocket, a cell phone pocket, and a PDA pocket...perfect for work and play.

Recently, I wrote about a Carlos Falchi python
bag, that left me a little puzzled.

This bag leaves me speechless...in a good way.

This is by Yves Saint Laurent and it's just, simply, a great-looking bag.

Made from snake-embossed leather, it features a gold-tone closure on the front and metal feet on the bottom to protect the bag when you place it down.

It's a large bag measuring 17"h x 14" w, but it features a nice sized strap, to bear the brunt of the junk you are sure to stuff it with.

You can purchase this through Neiman Marcus for $1595. For that price, it's definitely an investment...but, it's a color and style that you could wear now, and years from now...and still look fashionable.

I enjoyed browsing the wares over at www.net-a-porter.com so much, that I decided to head over there again.

This bag is called the Saskia Small Tote by Chloe. It's being called the next big "it" bag from the design house, following on the heels of the successes of the Paddington Bag and the Bay Bag.

Personally, I think that this bag is attractive. I love it's broken in feel and the distressed leather. The two leather straps are functional, yet removable, so that you may use the lucite handle at the top. It's also fairly large at 12"w x 9" h, enough to store your goodies, while not loosing them in a bottomless pit.

As with all high-end luxury bags these days, it's pricey...$1,900 to be exact. But, it's also a bag you could find yourself reaching for, time and time again.

tory burch olivia banana flats

I have to admit...I started off looking for another great bag to feature. But then I saw these...and...well you know the rest.

These are another pair of great flats from Tory Burch. If you didn't think that she could improve on the Reva flat...you are sorely mistaken.

Sure to be the next big thing, are her Olivia Banana Flats ($250)...shown here in a great orange color.

They feature elastic all-around, for a more comfortable fit, and bobble grips on the bottom for a comfortable step. The large gold-tone logo, different from the one you see on the Reva, is an adorable finish to a gorgeous shoe.

Because orange may seem a bit bold for some, the shoe comes in black patent and a metallic gold. I actually love the pop of a bright shoe, so I would go for the orange myself.

l.a.m.b. signature carlisle convertable clutch

Normally, I am not a fan of clutches for daytime. For me, it's a pain in the neck to have to carry a bag in my hand and juggle a toddler at the same time...it's also impossible.

Gwen Stefani must have had, the exact same problem.

This is L.A.M.B. 's, Signature - Carlisle Convertible Clutch Tote ($425) and it's just darling.

What's nice about this clutch, is that it not only looks great...it can be worn two different ways. The way you see above...and the way you see here:

Do I need to tell you that this bag is HUGE! It measures almost sixteen inches in length and eight inches in height when folded. When opened (like the picture above) it measures eleven inches in height.

I think that the idea of a interchangeable bag is genius. It's really two bags for the price of one. And the size alone allows you to cram a lot in there, opened or folded down.

I figured that I would add a little high-end luxury, via Fendi (www.bergdorfgoodman.com).

What's not to love about this bag?

I love the fact that it's not logo'd out, even though I'm not shy about my logos. I also adore the partial chain detailing in the handle. The huge double buckles up front are a great decorative touch, as is the gold-tone hardware.

Although, it doesn't look it...it's actually a decently sized bag at 12" l x 8" h. Perfect for schlepping your things about town.

The price may be a little steep...it is $1,260...but, you're looking at a quality bag that you could carry for years and not get tired of.

To me, this bag by Rebecca Minkoff has Spring written all over it.

If you've been doing your homework, you should know that lady-like, structured bags are in this Spring.

When I think of a structured bag, I think of a trapazoid-ish shaped bag, that is made out of some sort of leather, designed to be carried in the hand, and worn by a woman wearing a pill box hat and gloves.

To me, structured bags, while attractive, have a sort of precious quality that doesn't blend well with the real world.

What I love about the bag that you see here, called the Glazed Jet Setter Jr. Tote by Foley + Corinna, is that it plays on the idea of a structured bag...but still manages to look loose and broken in.

It's a large bag at 15"H x 15"L , so you can pack it with everything from a magazine to your makeup bag...and still have room for more. Pockets inside and out allow you to keep it organized. The strap has a generous 7 " drop, so you can carry it in your hand or over your shoulder comfortably.

I love the color of the bag, a great weathered grey they call river stone, as well. It's a color that's great for now, but can also transition into the warmer seasons. The strap and buckle detail (front and back) provide a nice finish.

Help me ....seriously ....help me.

I made a promise to Big L, that I would take a break from making any bag purchases.

I was doing really well....until I saw this.

This is from Botkier, Spring 2008. It's her Frankie Lambskin Hobo....and....I love it.

It comes in black, persimmon (red), silver, and copper...but, I love this sunny yellow.

I love the braided shoulder strap and the brushed silver accents. The hanging coin purse is just...adorable.

It's lemony hue is right on track for the warmer seasons but, with the right outfit, it can be worn in the colder months as well.

I'll have some time to convince Big L though, it's not available yet. You'll have to pre-order this on the Botkier website and Bergdorf Goodman.

Believe it or not...I actually love a bargain. I get all light-headed and woozy if I make a great find at a sale.

I also love dressing high and low. I'll splurge on certain items that are well made and will never go out of style...shoes, jeans, handbags, etc...and save on others. I love the unique looks that you can create...and it allows me to follow some trends, without breaking the bank. I am a stay-at-home mom after all.

Lately, I've been featuring items that are on the high end of the scale (yesterday's Loubies were no exception!) so I decided to give you a little bit from the low end...

It's a blog that I just found called Frugal-Fashionista. It's been out for a while and already on many a blogger's favorite site list.

It's one of those finds that gets me all light headed and woozy...really.

It features photos of celebs, wearing the most adorable outfits imaginable, and shows you how to replicate the look for a much lower price.

Genius!

See what I mean? Brilliant!

You could even build on this look with pieces in your own wardrobe. For instance...I would probably match a pair of skinny Seven's, with a TB Reva Flat, and (since I'm partial to black) that same tunic but in black plaid. These are from Christian Louboutin for Spring 2008, and they are to-die-for!

They are his leather platform sandal in luggage brown. I love the contrast stiching and the peep toe.

At $795, the price is steep...but you could get a lot of mileage out of them. I, myself, would pair them with a great skinny leg jean and a loose fitting tunic top. Perfect.

carlos falchi...love it or hate it?

I know that I am going to get some flack for this, but here goes...what is wrong with this bag?

I'm puzzled.

It's by Carlos Falchi and it's his Large Waxed Python Satchel in sea blue.

I can't seem to be able to put my finger on what is wrong with this bag. It's not the fact that it's python skin, in fact all of Carlos Falchi bags are either python or crocodile and really to-die-for. It's not really the color...it's actually kind of pretty. It's not even the gathered flap, that's kind of interesting in a way.

So what is it......

This is really bothering me.

Ok...hold on...

I think I know what it is....it's everything together. The skin, the color, and the gathered flap make it look like the tail of a mermaid going over the bag....right?

Right?

Or...it could be that it's Sunday...and I should try not to think too much on a Sunday.

Either way...I'm leaving it up to you. Vote below, on whether or not you like this bag. I'll give the results at a later posting.

Well, it's Friday again. Today marks the beginning of a long, holiday weekend. For many of you, that means going out of town on a mini-vacation. For others, it means major President's Day sales on Monday!

Here's something I chose to send you off, wherever you decide to go!

This bag is from Junior Drake. It's called the Aurora Satchel, and it retails for $498.

In case you haven't heard of them, Junior Drake has been featured in magazines such as O, Instyle, Lucky, Elle Accessories, and more. Judging by the style you see here, I think that it's definitely a name to watch.

All of their bags are made of Italian leather and come in a myriad of styles. The bag you see here measures 17" l x 12" h and has a 16" shoulder drop from the double straps. It also has a long strap you can wear over the shoulder or across the body. It features pockets inside and out and has cute criss-cross strap accents on both sides. I love the style and the functionality of this bag. The color is gorgeous and is great for Spring's neutrals, but it also comes in a muted silver if you're interested. The price isn't too bad either.

This Valentine's Day, I wanted to find a bag designer that you could fall in love with. Her name is Lauren Merkin.

If you haven't heard of her already, you are in for a treat. She designs bags that are simple, yet fashionable. They are made from gorgeous leathers that have a vintage quality to them. Her bags manage to be both femine and urban at the same time.

For Spring 2008, it's all about the color...and Lauren Merkin delivers.

Take, for example, the bag you see here.

This is the Sophie Duffel by Lauren Merkin. It's one of the new arrivals for Spring 2008 over at www.shopbop.com.

This color is called brick. Judging by the picture, I would consider it a reddish orange. It's constructed of glazed leather and features pretty pleating on the front and back. The cute stud details give it a nice finish.

The main compartment features a zipper closure, to keep your valuables safe. Inside you'll find an 8" zipper pocket and two patch pockets. It's nicely sized at 14"l x 7"h.

botkier spring 2008

It's official...I am in love with Botkier.

They have been working on updating their site for awhile now. And it's finally ready!

They've added great new bags for Spring 2008 and some great new items as well!

I am mainly excited with their addition of wallets. I love having matching accessories in my bag, so I'm just thrilled that I'll be able to add another wallet to my collection. The one you see here is the Marysia Continental Wallet ($295). It only comes in black, for the moment. But it's gorgeous.

I love the hammered goldtone rings and the black accent straps. It's a nice size at 7.75" x 3.75" and comes with lots of pockets for cash and credit cards. It's a zip around wallet, which I like, and features an inside zip pocket for coins. There is also an outside open pocket that's great for a quick access to essentials like parking stubs, or movie tickets.

I haven't seen this wallet in the stores yet, but I'm sure it will be out soon. If you can't wait...go to www.botkier.com to order one now.

chloe python and patent slingbacks

OK....I'm going to start off by saying, yes I know this is a blog about bags. And yes, I'm a thirty-something mom who chases after a toddler on a daily basis. Therefore, I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of high heels.

Right?

Wrong.

True, there is no way I could get away with these around the house. I mean, I'm not Victoria Beckham...I wasn't born in heels. And I would look really ridiculous tottering around after Little L wearing these puppies.

But, there is just something about them that made me stop and say...wow!

These adorable slingbacks are part of the Spring 2008 collection from Chloe. They aren't available for purchase just yet, but you can pre-order them for $595 from Neiman Marcus.

First off, I love the pop of color. It's reading a bright orangy-red to me, but the description says red patent. I think that it really gives a nice shot of color to a shoe that would otherwise look boring in basic black.

You could pair them with a great tan or white trouser, skinny jeans, and even a skirt (just watch the length of the skirt ladies...unless you want to show everyone your va-jay-jay). The great colors in the shoe, enable you to keep the rest of your outfit simple, but still give you that WOW factor. Gorgeous.

juicy couture

As you probably already know, I am not a teenager. I am also not in my early twenties, or twenties at all. I am actually in my thirties, mid-to-late thirty range to be exact.

That said, I still love Juicy Couture. I love their clothing...for the most part...you won't find me wearing their sweatpants with JUICY splashed across my bum. Also, their fragrance is delish.

But, I have never been into their handbag styles...until now.

The handbag over to the right is by Juicy Couture. Yes...you heard right....Juicy Couture. It's their Free Style Handbag ($425) and it's gorgeous.

I love everything about this bag. Mainly, because I don't feel it's only meant for someone younger than me. There are no crazy sayings splashed across it, no giant bows, and not even a hint of rhinestone. This bag would look appropriate on the arm of many a woman. It's...in a word...perfect.

Made out of soft textured leather, it also features a hammered link detail chain across the front. In it's interior you'll find...two patch pockets, one zippered pocket, and a really cute lining featuring the Juicy Couture logo. A fairly large bag at 18" l x 11" h, you're bound to stuff it with all of your essentials. Besides this beautiful camel color (called Vachetta), it also comes in black.

fendi spy bag in pomegranite

You are looking at the bag that can probably be found in many a celebrity closet. If you're lucky enough to have one of these in yours as well...congratulations are in order.

This is the Fendi Spy Bag ($2,250). It has probably undergone every imaginable transformation, in regards to pattern and color, since it's inception. I however like the Spring 2008 offering to the right.

The color is called Pomegranite, but it is really more of a burnt orange color. It's a great color for Spring and can even be worn in the Fall/Winter seasons as well.

I actually love this bag, in this color. I think that the orange color is gorgeous and can work well with many colors that already exist in your wardrobe. Take note...this color will be seen in many accessories for Spring 2008.

lauren conrad for linea pelle

I can't believe I am going to say the following:

I love The Hills.

I cannot get enough of that show. It's due to come back on again...I'm not sure when...and I can't wait.

I mainly watch for the fashions. Primarily, I watch the show for the scenes with Lauren and Whitney at Teen Vogue.

In my twenties I dressed well...but never in the labels that they sport on the show. And really...I would have killed to intern at a magazine.

My favorite person on the show, is Lauren. I really love her style. Whenever I see pictures of her in "real life", she always looks good. You normally see her carrying a great bag on her arm too. Generally, she carries her Chanel black tote. But, many times, you'll see her sporting other non-luxury brands. One of which is Linea Pelle.

Someone at Linea Pelle must have taken note of this. They must have also taken note of the fact that The Hills is such a popular show and Lauren is such a popular "character" because...

They collaborated with Lauren on a small collection of bags.

The bag above is from the Lauren Conrad for Linea Pelle collection. It's called the LC Tote and it retails for $350. It comes in black, brown, and this gorgeous olive. She also has a cute coin purse and a clutch as well.

While I may not run right out and buy one, I think that the bags are really cute. I like that she even gave a little nod to Chanel, with the chain handles. The cute cursive L on the zipper pull is a nice little touch too.

It's February, and even though there is still a chill in the air...handbag designers are bringing out their Spring wares.

This bag is from Jimmy Choo and it's her Sabo Bracelet Hobo in Printed Pony. The retail for this particular pattern is $3,395. It's a gorgeous bag. But, at that price, it's a little too expensive for me. I would probably get the version in black leather, which is a little less at $2450.

Although you can see this bag on the Jimmy Choo website (www.jimmychoo.com), it is not yet available for purchase. The same bag in white or black leather (and in black suede) is available.

Continuing with my quest to find fashionable bags at a lower price...I present the bag you see here.

This is from Lauren Merkin. It's her Large Plum distressed lambskin bag in Faded Black. The retail value for this bag is normally $575. It's on sale at, www.laurenmerkin.com, for $195.

I am a real fan of this designer. I love the simple shapes of her bags. As well as the gorgeous leather that she uses. She has many other bags to choose from, but there aren't many that you can get for this price.

You might want to head over there ASAP.
